One of the first decisions for a wedding that the couples make, after arriving at their wedding date, is the venue for the wedding ceremony. The wedding venue generally could vary from traditional wedding halls or auditoriums to places of worship, to sprawling lawns, to resorts and fairy-tale destination wedding venues. But, at sometimes the venue for the wedding ceremony could be a humble home. Yes, even today some couples do get married at one of their homes or backyards. This post showcases one such wedding ceremony held at Hubli city in Karnataka.
Deepak and Navya got married in Hubli this summer. Deepak’s family hails from Hubli while Navya’s family home is near historical Badami town in northern Karnataka. Their wedding ceremony, held as per the Lingayat community customs, was a simple and an intimate affair. It was conducted on a fine morning in the presence of close family and friends at Deepak’s family home. After the wedding was solemnized, the party moved to a wedding hall for a grand reception with a bigger guest list. It was fun photographing this wedding at an unconventional location in a completely unknown terrain.
