The Haldi ceremony is quite synonymous with most Indian weddings. It is usually held a couple of days before the wedding ceremony. It is the ceremony in which a paste of Haldi (turmeric) is applied on the bride and the groom’s body before their wedding. This ceremony is held at both the bride and the groom’s place separately. In some communities, it is held on the morning of the wedding ceremony. And in some cases, it is conducted together for the couple. I was witness to one such Haldi ceremony held in Hubli, Karnataka on the wedding day of a couple at the groom’s home, which eventually was the venue for the wedding ceremony too.Photographing Haldi ceremony is fun and can result in dynamic visuals.Hubli, Karnataka.
